Cleft Awareness week

This week is ‘Cleft Awareness’ week. On Friday, Miss Bennett led a special collective worship to launch the week. She spoke about her daughter’s personal experience of having a cleft and discussed some of the issues related to this. Amelia-Rose in Year 4 also confidently talked about her own experience. Both Miss Bennett and Amelia-Rose spoke passionately about the topic. The key message that they both shared was the importance of showing kindness, celebrating differences, and understanding that everyone has their own story.
Thank you so much to both Miss Bennett and Amelia for sharing your stories.
On Thursday 21st May, the children will be completing activities during the afternoon related to cleft awareness including making cards for children who are currently recovering from operations.
All children are invited to wear blue on Thursday. All donations will be gifted to CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association), a charity which supports children and families affected by cleft.
